ya, this is the memory leak problem which plagued samsung's own proprietary touchwiz OS phone. it even happens to the new Samsung Wave. the only solution you can do now was to turn off and turn on the phone.

OR

Pray / contribute to the Jetdroid project :D touchscreen is working now for Jetdroid.

Well, decided to follow the first rule of advice when it comes to computers - turn it off and on again! Allocated mem dropped to 49357k and I can now access web etc! :( Not impresed with the memory, but maybe I just need to remember to turn the thing off once a week.... :(

Any more intelligent advice to offer to stop getting 'insufficient memory'?

Hi,

Followed your instructions easily and found my Allocated mem is 101913K out of Total heap of 120842k - presume this is why I can't open any apps? My phone is giving me the 'not enough memory message' when I have nothing open!! How can I clear down the memory? Or discover what is running in the background that I am unaware of that is stopping this phone from functioning? I can't access the web and can't even access the simple calculator function at times. So much for a smart phone!
