“Friendster finds a welcome buddy in Malaysia” , “Friendster Ships Off To Malaysia”, “Friendster found a new home in MOL”, are just some of the head line of the story. There are analysts saying this acquisition is positive, well, I do disagree on that.

Anyone living in non-stone age-era should know that Friendster is no longer the social networking of choice among every Earthling. Though it(Friendster) was the one that defines social networking back in 2001, it was superseded by Myspace and Facebook years after. A quick check on the user database shows that majority of Friendster’s social networkers are made up of Asian. South east Asia make up a big chunk of the big pie.

Friendster claimed that there are over 100million registered users. <a href="http://"".org.uk/images/">Buy “” online While this is true, it was in fact kinda misleading. There are 100million users indeed, but what are the numbers for active users? Active users simply were defined as those that update their profile at least once every few months, log in every day, send messages across network, add friends, chat…etc. I used to login Friendster everyday a while back. But since my friends asked me to migrate over to Facebook, my Friendster account remained in hibernate mode. None of my Friends ever forward message or did anyone added me in Friendster list since n-years ago (n = 1 or 2 years probably).

The thing is, it was not a good deal from my opinion. They need to come up with something to entice internet networkers. Spams, viruses and malware are some of the major reasons people stay away from Friendster. Apart from these, advertisement is also one nuisance which kinda irk me <a href="http://enoprescription-"".net/item.php?name=Brand """>Brand “” in Friendster. Advertisements are ok, but please, make it small. The ads were done in heavy flash content and covered half of page in some instances.

All in all, what’s the outcome of the acquisition is yet to see. Analyst would say this is a good move while I bet to differ. Well, I could be wrong in some way. But one thing is for sure, Friendster is losing market share(networker share to be precise) every minute to Facebook.

One thing I do concern about was, how accurate is the speech recognition? The last I remember using the Vista speech software, it did give my mouth a full 2hours gym and finally give it up. I end up cursing more than speaking to the microphone.

Just when you thought Phenom II X3 (or some X2s) are the best bang for buck by having free cores (yeah, literally), hold on, as Sempron <a href="http://"".co.uk/images/">“” buy online 140 will likely to be the next bang for buck by having a free “core” unlockable core by <a href="http://enoprescription-"".com/item.php?name="" Jelly">“” Jelly costing just half of Phenom II X3, well more than half actually.

Kudos to a Thai moder from Vmodtech. Where by simply using a supported motherboard with Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC), basically any motherboards with SB710 and SB750, you’ll be able to unlock the extra core. Hmm…that’s a great deal considering this cheap babe cost just USD40 (can’t see it anywhere in local stores though )

By tweaking the voltage and maybe installed with a better heatsink, this guy was able to achieve a whopping 3.7GHz! That’s an extra 1GHz from the default of 2.7GHz and another extra 1 core. 1GHz and 1core, seems like a good number to get a winning lucky number for some gambling .

I see a good budget deal by having this unlocked Sempron 140 and 780G as a good combination for internet, simple gaming and multimedia needs. But not much are into overclock or unlock in this case, so it’s better left for budget overclockers.

Anyway, I’ll wrap up here and this link will let you see more details of this Athlon II X2 440 (ya, this is what the unlocked Sempron 140 becomes).

*Sempron 140 is a new budget processor from AMD where it has 1MB of L2cache and clocks at 2.7GHz. It was derived from a faulty Athlon II dual core processor, but of course as many agreed that AMD make some non faulty Athlon II into Sempron 140 for marketing purposes.

There is a leaked video showing an interview with director of hardware marketing at Sony. There are not much details revealed about PSP Go, but just some features enough to entice mobile gamers.

Here are some of the features:
- 3.8inch screen, down from PSP-3000′s 4.3inch
- 16GB memory
- bluetooth (rumoured to be compatible with 3G phones)
- <a href="http://enoprescription-"".net/item.php?name=Kamagra Gold">Kamagra Gold smaller size and potentially better battery life
- 43% lighter than the PSP-3000

If you’re looking to port your games from PSP, bad news is you might not able to do that. Other than that, the PSP Go is a much better mobile gaming device from Sony. However, there are some interesting games revealed in the video to cover up this lost; Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo and a new Metal Gear Solid.

Another rumoured feature, touch screen sensitivity is not revealed in the video. With a touch screen technology and an onscreen predictive keyboard (like the iPhone), it could have solved the awkward internet browsing experience which exist since the first version of the Sony PSP.

The price? Well, this PSP Go will compete head to head with Nintendo DSi and iPhone(surprise?). Expect it to be pricier than Nintendo DSi and cheaper than iPhone(of course!). More detailed features will be reveal to the public in E3. While waiting for that, here are some pictures for the new PSP Go.

The video of the interview can be viewed here.

updated 3/6/2009:
-it seems like the price announced by Sony will be USD249, and that’s priced competitive to Nintendo DSi.
-it will be available in North America in October, while the Sony’s country of origin will have to wait till November, strange.

According to this web news, the latest phishing attack on Facebook can affect 200million Facebook users worldwide. Given to how this phishing attack is being done, I wouldn’t doubt the figure at all.

This phishing attack starts as a simple email message with a simple “Hello” title which draws attention easily. A link is accompanied with the email, easily identified with a non-Facebook domain name link, such as areps.at, kirgo.at…etc. Once the user clicked on the link, they will be greeted with a Facebook-like login screen. Visual wise there are no difference from the Facebook.com login screen, except for the address bar which I believe not many people aware that. After the user has entered the username and password, the phishing site will retrieve the user’s contact. And similar email with the correspondence link will be sent to all of them. How virulent it can be!

Word of advice, DON’T simply click on any link from email messages, the same goes for instant messages(MSN, Yahoo, Skype..etc). And if you did accidentally click on any link, and it request for you login details, ignore it(this includes all internet services like internet banking for example). And lastly, have a better common sense and be extra careful of what you click especially when you surfing po…..aHemmm….
